The City of Yakima developed a partnership with SOZO Sports in 2013 to assist in the location of a multi-field, multi-sport complex, operated by a private organization. Over the last 7 years, the complex has blossomed into a major sports complex with outdoor fields, indoor facilities and significant surface parking for patrons. The City of Yakima has completed street network improvements that accommodate the event traffic.
Improvements included street widening, street lighting, installation of curb, gutter, sidewalk and storm drainage. Length of the improvement was 0.85 miles and cost of $1.9 million.
